Description

This course is for students who have completed Algebra 1 and are ready for a transformations-first, proof-based geometry course. Difficulty is slightly above a standard Geometry class.

Built on the Common Core State Standards for high-school Geometry, California traditional pathway. The course covers the full non-plus Geometry standards, congruence and transformations, triangle and quadrilateral proof, similarity and right-triangle trigonometry, circles, coordinate geometry, area and volume, modeling, and the conditional-probability strand, and adds selected honors topics: the Laws of Sines and Cosines, the tangent construction from an external point, Cavalieri's principle, and the general multiplication rule in probability. Deriving conic sections from their foci and probability counting with permutations and combinations are developed in our Precalculus course.
