Math Overview
☆☆☆ IN-PERSON / ONLINE LIVE CAMP REGISTRATION WILL BE OPENED SOON ☆☆☆
AlphaStar Math Program trains students towards prestigious Math competitions such as MathCounts, American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) 8/10/12, American Invitational Math Exam (AIME), and USA Math Olympiads (USA(J)MO). Our curriculum is aligned with the curriculum of these competitions. Students are guided and trained by an expert faculty via utilizing national and international competitions in a fun and challenging environment.
AlphaStar Summer Math Camp is a unique opportunity for interested and talented students to improve their math fundamentals, problem-solving skills, and boost their exam performance during Summer.
The online live lectures are recorded. Live class students can access the recorded lecture video in their course accounts within a few days after each live class session. Self-study and In-person class students will have access to recorded sessions from a past live class.
Two types of courses will be offered during the camp.
Fundamental Courses
Fundamental courses cover the whole contest curriculum while emphasizing critical problem-solving techniques and skills. The Math Curriculum at each level has a fundamental course taught in two parts: Part 1 teaches Algebra and Counting topics, and Part 2 teaches Geometry and Number Theory topics. For example, the MC25 level (AMC 8/MathCounts Advanced) has the following fundamental courses: MC25F-1 (Part 1), MC25F-2 (Part 2), and MC25F (Parts 1 and 2). These are the same courses as the ones offered in other seasons, Fall, and Spring semesters. Please check our Math Curriculum for details.
Online live and self-study classes offer these parts as separate courses, while In-person camps offer the two parts as a comprehensive single course.
During in-person/online live sessions, the instructor teaches the topic with example problems and reviews some of the homework problems. Students will have access to recorded sessions from a past or current live class.
The courses will include homework assignments, providing an opportunity for students to apply their learning. Although there will be designated time during the camp to focus on these assignments, students are encouraged to further engage with the material at their convenience. There is no strict deadline for submitting homework; students may comfortably complete and submit their assignments at any time within two years following their enrollment in the course. Additionally, a final exam will be available online, which students can take at any point after they have completed the course material.
