AlphaStar Academy is a test center for the prestigious Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC) competition, based in Canada, which serves over 250,000 students globally.
Contest Format
The contests are 60-minute with 25 multiple-choice problems. Students will take the contest in person, on paper at AlphaStar Academy Main office (in Santa Clara, California) at the designated date and time.

The names of top performing participants may be recognized by CEMC.
Gauss Contests
- Students in Grades 7 and 8
- Interested students from lower grades
(Please note that students working ahead one grade or more may choose to write the contest for the more advanced grade. However, a student may write at most one of the Gauss Contests.)
Pascal, Cayley and Fermat Contests
- Students in Grade 9 or below are eligible to write the Pascal Contest.
- Students in Grade 10 or below are eligible to write the Cayley Contest.
- Students in Grade 11 or below are eligible to write the Fermat Contest.
(Please note that students working ahead one grade or more may choose to write the contest for the more advanced grade. However, a student may write at most one of the Pascal, Cayley and Fermat Contests.)
Important Dates
Registration Deadline: February 01, 2025 (Pascal, Cayley, Fermat Contests) and April 15, 2025 (Gauss Contests)
Contest: Registered students will receive an email within a week prior to the contest with more information.

- Wednesday May 14, 2025 for Gauss
