This course is the first course of the two courses corresponding to USACO Bronze level.

Objectives

Scoring 500/1000 in USACO Bronze contests

Who should take this course?

A student who wants to take this course is recommended to finish Algebra I or a similar level math course. In addition, it's recommended to accomplish ONE of the followings:

  • Scored 300+ in a USACO Bronze contest
  • Successfully completed the second part of an AlphaStar Programming course (CS21B or CS22B or CS23B)

Content

This course is composed of the following chapters:

  • Brute-force Search Method
  • String Processing Problems
  • Simulations
  • Inverse Indexing Technique
  • Sorting
  • Interval Problems
  • 2D Grids
  • Mixed Problems

The classes include solving / discussing several lecture exercises and 40+ medium / hard former USACO Bronze problems. The course has one midterm and one final exam.

The next course is CC25B: USACO Bronze - B.

It is recommended to complete at least 50% of the course (certificate of succesful completion) before taking the next one.
